Finally At Home In The Opry

Beginning in 1985 and lasting nearly a decade, Restless Heart racked up one chart topping hit after another. They garnered multiple nominations and music awards and even topped the contemporary charts. But when is came to performing at the Mecca of country music, The Grand Ole Opry, the story was very different. A Reunion, of sorts, at the Opry

What do Restless Heart, Jamie O’Neal and Trick Pony have in common besides making great country music? Over the past four years, all of them have volunteered to entertain the troops overseas as part of Operation Season’s Greetings, and, by sheer coincidence, they are all appearing on the Grand Ole Opry, Saturday, December 17.

Over the 2002 Thanksgiving holidays Restless Heart and Jamie performed seven shows at military bases in Europe and Southeast Asia as part of the Air Force Reserve sponsored tour. Restless Heart was back on the tour in 2003. Trick Pony just returned from the 2005 tour after performing in Germany, Turkey, Qatar and Iceland.

There’s no doubt these great patriotic entertainers will be sharing stories backstage at the Opry.
